Completing your identity verification (KYC) is a crucial step to securing your Webot account and accessing our full range of services. To ensure a smooth and successful verification process, please follow the guidelines and solutions below.
Essential Document Requirements
To avoid automated rejections, please ensure your government-issued ID meets the following criteria:
Validity: All documentation must be current and not expired.
Physical Original: You must upload a live photo of the physical document. Photocopies, digital screenshots, or scans will be automatically rejected.
Visibility: The document must be fully visible from corner to corner. Ensure no parts of the ID are obscured, cropped, or covered by fingers/objects.
Clarity: Photos must be high-resolution. Blurry images or those with significant glare/reflections will lead to rejection.
Supported Regions: Webot currently supports specific U.S. states and territories. Please ensure you are a resident of a Supported Region.
Accepted Types: We currently accept valid U.S. State IDs, Driver’s Licenses, Passports, and Proof of Address (POA) documents.
Face Verification (Biometrics) Tips
During the "Selfie" or live-action face check, please keep these best practices in mind:
Lighting: Ensure you are in a well-lit area with light facing you. Avoid backlighting (light sources behind you), as this obscures your facial features.
Background: Do not use green screens, virtual backgrounds, or any filters.
Authentication: The verification must be performed by the account owner. The presence of third parties in the frame or attempting to verify for someone else is a violation of our terms and may lead to permanent account closure.
Proof of Address (POA)
If you choose to verify your identity using a Passport, you are required to submit a supplemental Proof of Address (POA).
Accepted POA Documents: Utility bills (water, electricity, gas), bank or credit card statements, tax invoices, or other government-issued residential certificates.
Note: A valid U.S. Driver’s License may also serve as a Proof of Address.
Recency: The document must be issued within the last six (6) months.
FAQ
Q: My verification is still "Pending" after a few minutes. Is there a problem?
A: Not necessarily. While many checks are instant, some applications require a manual system review. This process typically completes within 12 hours. We appreciate your patience.
Q: Why was I rejected for "Duplicate Account"?
A: Our policy allows only one verified identity per user. Please check if you have an existing account. If you recently closed a previous account, there is a 30-day cooling-off period before your ID can be used to verify a new account.
Q: Can I complete the verification on my computer?
A: Yes; however, we strongly recommend using the Webot Mobile App. Mobile cameras generally provide better focus for documents and more reliable biometric scanning than desktop webcams.
Q: My application was rejected, but I don't see a specific reason.
A: If the provided reason is unclear, please contact our 24/7 Online Support or submit a formal support ticket for a detailed review of your case.
Please get in touch with Webot Support if you have any other questions.
